Expanded education: the Museum, schools, the territory

Each year, The National Cinema Museum’s Educational Department offers a wide range of possibilities aimed at valorising cinema education. These projects make use of the Museum’s collections and cultural initiatives to help teachers, students and the broader public learn about cinema and its history.

The educational activity also reaches beyond the Museum and involves projects that are carried out in collaboration with other museums in Torino, in order to study the bonds between the seventh art and other cultural fields (science, art, music).

The ongoing relationship with the territory is one of the guiding concepts of the Educational Department; its projects are also meant for people who are sometimes excluded from museum activities because of cultural, architectural, economic or social barriers.

Starting this year, the concept joining the Museum’s didactic objectives with those of extended accessibility has a new channel: Educ.a. This new area will increase awareness of the Museum’s educational projects and will offer more opportunities for dialog and interaction between the Museum and its interlocutors.
