The National Cinema Museum will be hosting the festival entitled Mondovisioni: The documentaries of Ferrara’s Internazionale Festival in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three from 1-7 February 2012.
The series will open on Wednesday, 1 February 2012 at 8.30 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three with a screening ofPage One: Inside the New York Times, an interesting documentary where Andrew Rossi spent a year filming editorial work at the New York Times and described what has changed in our information system since many newspapers have been forced to close by the popularity of the Internet and the fall in advertising revenue.Admission: 6.00/4.00/3.00 euros.
For February’s CROSSROADS evening, the National Cinema Museum pays tribute to the German singer Nico, screening two films by Philippe Garrel, with whom she had an intense professional relationship and love affair in the 1970s.
The event starts on Friday, 3 February 2012 at 8.30 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three, with the film La Cicatrice intérieure (The Inner Scar), screenplay by Garrel-Nico. Afterwards, at 9.45 p.m., the heartrending J’entends plus la guitare (I Can No Longer Hear the Guitar) will be screened, a film the director dedicated to her the day after her death. Both films will be repeated on Saturday, 4 February 2012 at 3.45 p.m. and 5 p.m. Admission: 6.00/4.00/3.00 euros.
ASIFA Italia – the Italian Association of Animated Film and the National Cinema Museum present a new event in the series entitled L’OTTAVA ARTE (THE EIGHTH ART): Wonders of animation, on Monday, 6 February 2012 at 3.30 p.m. in the Bibliomediateca’s meeting room, with Gianni Rondolino who will present a fascinating journey through the world of animated images. Introduced by Alfio Bastiancich.
The National Cinema Museum presents Elio Petri’s film I giorni contati on Tuesday,7 February 2012 at 8.45 p.m. in Cinema Massimo’s Screen Three, screening a copy restored by the National Cinema Museum in partnership with the Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna at the L’Immagine Ritrovata laboratory. There will be a repeat screening on Wednesday, 8 February 2012 at 4 p.m. Admission: 6.00/4.00/3.00 euros.

The European "premiere" of an exhibition created by an American scholar and collector that has toured all the most important American museums, starting with the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. It is an impressive collection of original materials drawn by the artists who created the extremely popular cartoon characters of Warner Bros. from the 1930s, '40s, '50s and early '60s: Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Wile E. Coyote, Speedy Gonzales, Sylvester, Tweety and many others. The exhibition is enriched by 48 posters and advertising material from the National Cinema Museum’s own collections.

A solo exhibition focusing on the first Italian female photographer who, from the mid 1950s on, devoted herself unceasingly to portraying film stars (actresses, actors, directors and screenwriters) and worked for the most important international magazines, from Vogue to Life, from Epoca to Stern. The exhibition will be accompanied by the publication of a catalogue.
